about the author

Richard Jerome is a proud Mancunian, surviving exile in Yorkshire as his wonderful wife and sons were born there. He is grateful to the generations of witty and lively teenagers who amused, inspired and kept him young throughout his career in secondary, further and higher education as a teacher, senior manager and inspector. He maintains though that his best job was as a student labouring at his local sewage treatment plant where he learned far more about life than he did at university. He enjoys watching professional football, the theatre, bird-watching, modern and contemporary art, and litter-picking.
